1. About UTU Soko
UTU Soko is a community-centred marketplace connecting buyers with farmers, beekeepers, artisans, hosts and community enterprises. By using the site you agree to these terms.
2. Accounts
Provide accurate details and keep your sign-in codes private. You are responsible for activity under your account.
3. Orders, bookings and pricing
Prices are in Kenyan Shillings and include the creator's share. Stays, excursions and safaris are confirmed by UTU before payment. Seasonal items may change; we will contact you to substitute or refund.
4. Delivery
Delivery times are estimates. Please provide an accurate address and a reachable phone number.
5. Cancellations and refunds
Request cancellation before packing through the support page with your order number. Report damaged or spoiled items within 24 hours.
6. Creators and sellers
Creators are responsible for the accuracy, quality and legality of their listings. UTU may remove any listing that misrepresents a product or harms community trust.
7. Changes
We may update these terms. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
Referral shopping credits
Complete your profile with your name, photo and phone before sharing your personal referral link. The most recently opened valid referral link in the buyer's browser is submitted at checkout; attribution remains until another link replaces it or browser storage is cleared. No referral is guaranteed if browser storage is unavailable.
Credit is shown in HERITAN, UTU Soko's shopping currency: 20 HERITAN = KSh 10. Every new account receives a one-time welcome gift of 20 HERITAN. Changing your profile name or photo gives you a fresh referral link; links you shared earlier keep earning for you.
An active account earns 5% of the final order total, including delivery and after discounts and redeemed credit, rounded to the nearest Kenyan Shilling. Credit is recorded when the order is placed, not proof that payment has been collected. Repeat linked orders qualify. Self-referrals and unknown or inactive referral codes do not qualify. Apart from the welcome gift, submitting an enquiry or applying as a creator does not earn credit.
Shopping credit is not cash and cannot be withdrawn. Use it at checkout, up to the payable order total. The balance is checked and debited in the same transaction as the order; a retry of the same order does not spend credit twice. Cancelled orders do not currently reverse referral credit automatically; contact UTU support for review. Do not create fake accounts, misleading offers or unlawful promotions. Current seller prices and delivery fees are confirmed at checkout.
